While creating Portrait of Flowers, our wish was that this album might offer a moment of reflection and wonder at the beauty and delicate complexity of flowers. That it might allow the viewer to stop, breathe, and marvel at the natural, simple, yet utterly perfect beauty of flowers.
These photo were taken by us over the course of a year and coalated into a book. Portrait of Flowers is not a scientific publication, nor an essay on the iconography of flowers in art history, nor a study of their influence on culture, beliefs, or traditions. Our intention in creating this album is much simpler: to linger on the beauty of flowering plants. To pause with their colours and forms, and to allow yourself to truly experience their fragile charm.

The Story so far...
My first book of photography. A snapshot of my love for creating images coming back to life. Named only ‘Volume 1’ as a promise of more to come.
Photography has always been a constant in my life, even when it wasn't my main focus. I studied graphic design and photography years ago, immersing myself in the technical and creative aspects of both fields. But as time passed, other commitments took priority. Work, family, and life in general meant that my camera found itself sidelined.
Even so, I never truly let it go. Over the years, I kept taking photos here and there, especially during tours in Scotland. The landscapes here - rugged hills, expansive lochs, and dramatic skies - offer endless inspiration. I also found a fascination with abstract photography, capturing textures, shapes, and patterns in a way that felt uniquely expressive.
After twenty years, I decided it was time to dedicate myself to photography again. It wasn’t a grand moment or emotional realization; it just felt like the right thing to do. The skills were still there, albeit a little rusty, and the passion never left. Now, my camera is back in hand, and I’m reconnecting with the craft that has always been a quiet part of my passion.
